Support Coordination is a Capacity Building support funded by the NDIS to assist participants in understanding and implementing their NDIS plans. Eligibility for Support Coordination is determined on an individual basis, considering several factors:
Complexity of Needs: Participants with complex situations or multiple support requirements may be more likely to receive funding for Support Coordination to help manage and coordinate various services effectively.
Informal Support Networks: If a participant lacks informal support from family or friends to assist in navigating the NDIS, they may be considered for Support Coordination funding.
Capacity Building Potential: The NDIS aims to build participants' abilities to manage their supports independently over time. If Support Coordination is deemed necessary to develop these skills, it may be included in the plan.
It's important to note that not all NDIS participants will have Support Coordination funded in their plans. The decision is based on individual circumstances and the specific goals outlined during the planning process. For detailed information on eligibility criteria, you can refer to the NDIS guidelines or consult with your NDIS planner.
