NDIS plan reviews,
made simple.
Everything you need to know on four pages. The NDIS now calls a plan review a plan reassessment.
1. The NDIS reaches out
Usually about 2-3 months before your reassessment date, to book a check in.
2. The check in
Your goals, your supports, and what's changed in your life.
3. Continue or reassess
A working plan may be continued for up to 12 months. Otherwise you get a new plan.
4. You don't have to wait
If your needs change significantly, ask for a reassessment any time.
of scheduled reassessments started within the NDIA's own timeframe
of internal reviews finished within the 60 day target
of funding was used by participants not in supported living
Source: NDIS Quarterly Report, Q4 2025-26. From 1 October 2026, community participation and daily living skills budgets are being reduced at reassessment, so strong evidence matters more than ever.

The funding test in 30 seconds
| EVERY SUPPORT MUST BE | SO YOUR EVIDENCE SHOULD SHOW |
|---|---|
| Related to your disability | How the disability causes the need, with real examples |
| Linked to your goals | Which goal each support helps with |
| Effective and beneficial | Progress so far, and that it's good practice |
| Value for money | Quotes, options compared, costs it may save later |
| Not fairly expected of family | What family already does, and the toll it takes |
| Not another system's job | Why health, school or housing services don't cover it |
Our top tip
Many plans say therapists must send a progress report 6 weeks before reassessment. Ask early, and ask for recommendations with hours and frequency.
